Become a Foster Family!

German Shepherd Rescue of Central Texas gives abandoned German Shepherds a second chance at happiness by providing health care and training before helping them find a home they can enjoy forever.

German Shepherd Rescue Central Texas is a non-profit organization run by volunteers. Equipment and supplies are all purchased using the personal funds of our volunteers, or are sometimes donated or purchased using contributions and adoption fees.

We service the Central Texas region, including Austin, Waco, Killeen, New Braunfels, Bastrop, Dripping Springs, and the surrounding areas. Unfortunately, we can neither accept dogs from, nor adopt dogs to those in areas beyond Central Texas.

Newly-rescued dogs are taken in on a space-available basis. That means that for each dog that is adopted, another can be saved.

German Shepherds are loving, intelligent companions. In addition, they work as police dogs, drug and bomb detection dogs, protection and guard dogs, guide dogs for the blind, service dogs for the physically challenged, search & rescue dogs and military dogs. Their affinity for training makes them excellent candidates for these types of jobs, as well as for becoming ideal family dogs.
